Shiba is a small dog with an attitude. The breed is often called the national treasure of Japan. Japanese people has three words to describe the nature of Shiba: Kan-i, Ryosei and Soboku. Those words are challenging to explain by a simple way and it takes some time, maybe years, to really understand the right character and entity of Shibas. The following text belongs to a famous breeder in Japan, Nobuo Atsumi:
"The essence of the nature of Japanese dogs is expressed in three very important words: KAN-I means the intense strength of intrepid character and dignity. Shibas may be fierce and bold without being aggressive to the point of refined excellence (Shibas must express a dauntless and noble presence, which may even be called majestic). RYOUSEI means faithful and obedient. Dogs should have total trust and attachment to the owner, expressing full bond and partnership (it is often said that the Japanese dogs would take only one master in his lifetime). SOBOKU means natural beauty from a seasoned maturity and a modest appearance. Its expression is the feeling of a refined simplicity and a sober elegance (Showy quality, appreciated in the West, may be considered the exact opposite of Soboku; such loud quality is considered coarse and lacks elegance)."
Kan-I, Ryousei and Soboku includes all the features why Shibas are so special and it explains why we fall in love to this amazing breed.

At the same time Shibas can be faithful for owner, but still they have their own pride and independence. The natural beauty is something what really catches my eyes. The most important goal to me is to breed Shibas with all those three charaters.
I hope to breed brave, confident, friendly, alert, obedient and beautiful Shibas, who recognise their beauty also by themselves. In addition to that, I also like to own and breed dogs who get along with other dogs and settle into this modern society.
Besides the correct nature, I hope to maintain the good healthy of this breed. All my puppies and dogs will go to health inspections for hips, eyes, elbows and knees at proper age. I will also observe my dogs and puppies against the allergies, bite problems etc.
By look I want to breed Shibas with right size, measurements and structure. I want to notice the intense expression and bright color with correct urajiro which are important attributes also in Japan. Besides the FCI definion I will do my best to follow the guidelines of NIPPO, which is the original Japanese organization for Shibas.
All my puppies grow up in our house, where they get to use different sounds and meet visitors. After the first 3-4 weeks we spend time with them outside the house too. Puppies are handled daily and properly sosialized before moving to their new homes.

Puppies will be given out earliest at the age of 8 weeks. They are registered to Finnish Kennel Club, microchipped and they have got anthelmintic at the age 3, 5 and 7 weeks. The new owners get written guidelines to how to take care of the puppy, puppy food that the puppy has used to eat, some toys, a collar and a leash and last, but not least, breeder's support and help for dog's full lifetime.
